Large lilac pink/purple flowers, 6-8" wide. Fall blooming Crocus and Colchicum are wonderful additions to the garden. Their blooms form lovely chalice-shaped cups. Leaves turn golden yellow as they mature, blending with fall foliage.
Sometimes called the Autumn Crocus, the Colchium is a one-of-a-kind wonder in the flower kingdom.These beautiful lily cousins are not true crocuses.
The habit of the Colchium is an interesting one. SPRING:broad leaves appear but die back long before bloom. FALL: brings on the COLORFUL LIGHT PINK/PURPLE BLOOMS. They are of Crocus-like form upon long tube-like stems. Colchiums never fail to surprise the gardener with their delicate appearance amid the rougher weather of fall. They require little attention and growing them is an especially fun.
